I saw the bedroom above in our office concept files and loved the mix of dark walls, ivory trim and yellow doors with the pop of red from the lamp. It reminded me of a Mondrian painting. I've seen a little of Washington, DC based interior design Darryl Carter's work before but it's his own Virgina getaway in the new Elle Decor that has me drooling! It passes my "I could move in today and be blissfully happy" test with flying colors. Carter calls his style "new traditional" and has used the phrase for his new book that will be released later this year. One of the things I love about The Book of Decorating from Domino is that there is a beautiful watercolor rendering of an interior on the title page to each chapter.
